Philana S. Handler is an associate in the firm, providing representation in a broad range of intellectual property matters, including trademark, copyright, and unfair competition matters.
Ms. Handler is admitted to practice before the Virginia Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. Ms. Handler is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Fairfax Bar Association, and the Virginia Bar Association.
Ms. Handler received her law degree in 2004, with honors, from the David A. Clarke School of Law of the University of the District of Columbia and her undergraduate degree in 2000 from the George Mason University. In law school, Ms. Handler was involved in programs providing development assistance to small businesses and non-profit organizations and in special education advocacy programs. As an undergraduate, Ms. Handler was president of the Judicial Board of the George Mason University.
