Clyde R Christofferson is a principal in the firm. He received the degree of Bachelor of Physics from Stanford University in 1966 and his law degree from Stanford in 1969. Mr. Christofferson is a member of the Virginia and Missouri bars, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Christofferson worked as an engineer in the defense technology industry. Following law school he served as a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps, prosecuting and defending a variety of criminal cases. Later, Mr. Christofferson was a trial attorney with the Antitrust division at the U.S. Department of Justice where he worked on several large monopolization cases. Mr. Christofferson has chaired the Legal Network Committee of the Virginia State Bar and chairs the Electronic Filing Committee of the ABA's Section of Science and Technology. He is founder and past chair of the Technology Committee of the Fairfax Bar Association, and he currently chairs the Electronic Filing Subcommittee of the Circuit Court Committee of the Fairfax Bar Association. He edited the technology section of the Computer Litigation Journal from 1989 to 1997. He is co-chair of the Legislative Committee of the Virginia Bar Association's Intellectual Property Law Section. He is past president of the D.C. Computer Law Forum and past chair of the Computer Interest Group of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. He was nominated by the Virginia State Bar and appointed by the Governor of Virginia to the Board of Directors of the Virginia Information Providers Network Authority, which was set up by the Legislature to develop a central electronic network for public access to information maintained by the Commonwealth of Virginia and served a term as its first chairman.
